Trump Says Transgender People Cannot Serve In Military.
President Trump has announced that the government will not
allow transgender service in the United States military, a year after the
Pentagon increased its ban on transgender members.
Time ago,The Pentagon had lifted the ban on transgender
service members in June 2016. A policy was adopted under former President
Obama.
Now President Trump, in consultation with generals and
military experts, has decided will not to allow transsexuals to serve in the US
military.
Transgender people already serve in the military, and this
ban is not immediate, but the Pentagon
announced Wednesday that they will postpone entry by transgender people.
We can understand some of President Trump's intentions
through his series of tweets on Wednesday morning, with the following content:
"After consultation with my Generals and military
experts, please be advised that the United States Government will not accept or
allow....."
"....Transgender individuals to serve in any capacity
in the U.S. Military. Our military must be focused on decisive and
overwhelming....."
"...victory and cannot be burdened with the tremendous
medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail.
Thank you"
The problem of transgender
people serving in the military is a sensitive issue that has caused much
debate. According to McCain, the medical obligations it would incur, the impact
on military readiness.
He added that do he not believe that any new policy
decision is appropriate when it has not been studied and scrutinized thoroughly.
