Michael Flynn pleads guilty to lying to FBI as Trump-Russia
inquiry takes critical step.
President Trump’s former national security adviser, Michael
T. Flynn, pleaded guilty on Friday to lying to the F.B.I. about conversations
with the Russian ambassador last December.
So after months of silence, Michael T. Flynn entered a
federal court in Washington DC on Friday morning and pleaded guilty to
misleading the FBI. He was ready to testify about Russian contacts.
As the news spread, the President of the United States was
uncharacteristically mute as the spectacle played out.
Flynn also described a further chain of communications in
Trump's transition team, in which he received instructions from September 2016
from a senior transfer officer.
