Vince Wilfork signed a one day contract and retired as a
patriot.
Vincent Lamar Wilfork was born on November 4, 1981. He was a
former American football player who played at the National Football League
(NFL). He played college football for the University of Miami, was drafted by
the New England Patriots in the first round of the NFL in 2004, and spent the
first 11 years of his career there.
Wilfork was considered one of the top defenses in the NFL in
the late 2000s and was named to the Pro Bowl and All-Pro teams in 2007, 2009,
2010, 2011 and 2012. In March 2014, Wilfork signed a $ 22.5 million contract
for three years.
In the NFL 2014 season, Wilfork recorded 47 tackles, 2
passes defensed, and 1 interception. He helped the patriots to the Super Bowl
XLIX. In the Super Bowl, Wilfork recorded two games as they defeated the
Seahawks 28-24 to win the Super Bowl by Vince.
On March 5, 2015, patriots denied their team's contract on
Wilfork's contract, making him a free agent at the end of the 2014 season.
On March 16, 2015, Wilfork signed a two-year contract with
Texas Texans.He started all 16 games in 2015 at the spot where he beat the nose
making 22 tackles. He played two seasons with the Houston Texans before
retiring after the 2016 season with the New England Patriots.
On August 7, 2017, Wilfork announced his retirement from the
NFL after 13 seasons. Wilfork, 35, had 559 tackles, 16 sacks, four forced
fumbles and three interceptions in 189 regular-season games.
