Shortest season of Mike Trout is still his most impressive yet.

Michael Nelson Trout was born on August 7, 1991. He is an American professional baseball center fielder for the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball (MLB). Trout is a six-time MLB All-Star, and received the American League (AL) Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in 2014 and 2016 (finishing second in the 2012, 2013 and 2015 votes).

Trout was the first choice of angels in the 2009 MLB draft and has appeared in several major tournaments in 2011 as a teenager. He became a regular player for Angels in the following season and unanimously won 2012 the Rookie of the Year award. He is under contract with Angels until 2020.
On his 26th birthday, Mike Trout got his 1,000th hit last night.Mike Trout missed 39 games for Angels this season after injuring his ligaments in the thumb, but since returning from the DL is hitting .363/.469/.663. For the season, he’s hitting .343/.464/.716.

Dubbed "Millville Meteor," Trout's MLB performances received praise from both mainstream media and sabermetricians. He is considered one of the best young players in baseball history, as well as one of the best players in all MLB.

Therefore, though present he doesn’t even have enough plate appearances to qualify for FanGraphs’s WAR leaderboard, and yet he’s in the top five. Trout’s ZiPS projection for his 2017 season forecasts him playing 41 of the Angels’ 48 remaining games, and hitting .305/.424/.596.

On May 28, Trout left the game after shaving his left thumb. Two days later, the MRI showed that the thumb had a torn ligament injury, and for the first time he was listed as a disabled person in his major league career.

Trauma requires surgery, and Trout was eliminated in six to eight weeks. Before the injury, Trout beat .337 and led the Angels with 16 home runs. On May 31, he underwent successful plucking surgery.

Trout was activated from the disabled list on July 14 after missing 39 games. On August 7th, his 26th birthday, Trout hit a double down the third-base line for his 1000th career hit.It marks the fourth time in six seasons that Trout has homered on his birthday.
