UFC 217 with Three Titles Change Hands at Madison Square
Garden.
In Nov. 2016, A gold belt changed hands that night when
Conor McGregor won the second round TKO victory with Eddie Alvarez. The win
gave McGregor a lightweight title.
Madison Square Garden witnessed the changes as soon as the
UFC returned to the historic stadium for UFC 217. People think it was like UFC
205, this event has three title matches.
According to the general record, in the first battle of the
evening. Joanna Jedrzejczyk dropped his belt for Rose Namajunas through the
knockout stages.
Joanna Jędrzejczyk is a Polish mixed martial artist and
former Muay Thai kickboxer who competes in the women's strawweight division of
the Ultimate Fighting Championship. And Rose Gertrude Namajunas is an American
mixed martial artist who is currently competing in the women's strawweight
division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, and is the division's reigning
champion.
People continue to witness direct defeat, the first defeat
of Garbrandt's 12-game career. Cody Garbrandt is an American professional mixed
martial artist signed to the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is the
former UFC Bantamweight Champion. And, Tyler Jeffrey Dillashaw is an American
mixed martial artist and the current UFC Bantamweight Champion in his second
reign.
Garbrandt lost the fight via knockout in the second round to
lose the UFC Bantamweight Championship. This would eventually be his first
professional MMA loss in his career.
In the main event, Georges St-Pierre defeated Michael
Bisping via technical submission in the third round to become the Middleweight
Champion and the fourth person in UFC history to become a champion in multiple
divisions. It is interesting that this victory brought the St-Pierre
Performance of the Night bonus. Bisping lost the bout via technical submission
due to a rear-naked choke in the third round.
Georges St-Pierre is a French Canadian mixed martial artist,
often referred to as GSP. Currently signed to the Ultimate Fighting
Championship (UFC), St-Pierre is the reigning UFC Middleweight Champion and a
three-time former UFC Welterweight Champion, having won the title twice from
2006 to 2008, as well as an Interim title in 2007.
On February 15, 2017, after months of negotiations,
St-Pierre and UFC reportedly agreed to financial terms of a multi-fight contract.The
next day, UFC president Dana White confirmed St-Pierre had officially re-signed
with the organization. In March 2017, St-Pierre revealed the contract is for
four fights.
Therefore, everything is closed in that night with one
noteworthy note was that in addition to winning the trophy, three new champions
also earned $ 50,000 in "Performance of the Night".
