Nail products, when exposed to repeated use or exposure to high concentrations, may cause damage to the body or cause an allergic reaction.
Here are some toxic chemicals, which you need to be aware of, which products they may be in, and they can affect your body, as a precaution:
1. Acetone (nail polish remover): headaches; dizziness; and irritated
eyes, skin, and throat.
2. Butyl acetate (nail polish, nail polish remover): headaches and
irritated eyes, skin, nose, mouth, and throat.
3. Acetonitrile (fingernail glue remover): irritated nose and throat;
breathing problems; nausea; vomiting; weakness; and exhaustion.
4. Ethyl acetate (nail polish, nail polish remover, fingernail glue):
irritated eyes, stomach, skin, nose, mouth, and throat; high
concentrations can cause fainting.
5. Isopropyl acetate (nail polish, nail polish remover): sleepiness, and
irritated eyes, nose, and throat.
6. Ethyl methacrylate (EMA) (artificial nail liquid): asthma; irritated
eyes, skin, nose, and mouth; difficulty concentrating. Exposures
while pregnant may affect your child.
7. Formaldehyde (nail polish, nail hardener): difficulty breathing,
including coughing, asthma-like attacks, and wheezing; allergic
reactions; irritated eyes, skin, and throat. Formaldehyde can cause
cancer.
8. Quaternary ammonium compounds (disinfectants): irritated skin
and nose and may cause asthma.
9. Methyl methacrylate (MMA) (artificial nail products, though
banned for use in many states): asthma; irritated eyes, skin, nose,
and mouth; difficulty concentrating; loss of smell.
10. Toluene (nail polish, fingernail glue): dry or cracked skin;
headaches, dizziness, and numbness; irritated eyes, nose, throat,
and lungs; damage to liver and kidneys; and harm to unborn
children during pregnancy
11. Dibutyl phthalate (DBP) (nail polish): nausea and irritated eyes, skin, nose, mouth, and throat. Long-term exposures to high concentrations may cause other serious effects.
12.Methacrylic acid (nail primer): skin burns and irritated eyes, skin, nose, mouth, and throat. At higher concentrations, this chemical can cause difficulty breathing.
 Unfortunately many employers and employees working with these chemicals are unaware of the associated hazards and fail to take proper precautions.

As a manicurist, which contaminants can be harmful to their health?
Nail technicians are highly exposed to many infectious agents, such as hepatitis B, hepatitis C, and the virus that causes immunodeficiency in people called HIV.



However, this only happens when you exposed to infected blood from colleagues or clients.
This can also occur when using untreated equipment that has been contaminated or when you have been exposed to a client with a fungal nail disease that you do not good hygiene and safety principles.
What is the method to prevent this?
You should be careful to avoid touching any other person's blood or body fluids. Try to avoid customers who have cuts, wounds or open sores, sores. Especially clear skin infections.
Use gloves regularly and use gloves that meet the prescribed criteria.
Always wash your hands with soap and water before and after working with customers to avoid spreading germs.


In particular, bandage open cuts or broken skin to prevent contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials from a client or coworker.
Attention to hepatitis B vaccination. This has important implications for disease prevention.
If an individual is bleeding, do not touch the blood and including materials used directly for hemostasis.
Thoughtful work clean and disinfect tools after each client according to the policies of your state’s cosmetology board.
The most important ones are:
Wash tools with soap and water. Soak for 10 to 30 minutes in tools in an EPA-registered disinfectant.
Store all disinfected tools in a clean, covered area. Use only ultraviolet (UV) sterilization containers to store clean and disinfected reusable metal tools.

What does MSDSs in the nail salon industry mean.
MSDSs stands for Material Safety Data Sheets. OSHA requires product manufacturers to provide salon owners
with material safety data sheets (MSDSs) for the products they
buy that contain hazardous chemicals.

Generally, MSDS must provide the following information information:
1. Hazardous ingredients in the product.
2. How you can be exposed to the ingredients.
3. The risks to health and safety you face when using the product.
4. Steps to use and store the product safely, including what to do in an emergency.

OSHA has recently updated its requirements on a safety data sheet. The "Material Safety Data Sheet" (MSDS) is now called the "Safety Data Sheet" (SDS). SDS will generally list the same information as MSDS, but all information will be presented in a format common to products.

Những điều này trong Y học thường được gọi là rủi ro về ergonomic hay rủi ro đối với cơ xương vì chúng ảnh hưởng đến cơ bắp và xương của bạn. Mức độ đau nhức có nhau đồi vời từng người và từng trường hợp cụ thể.

Những bước mà chúng ta có thể thực hiện để những giảm rủi ro này:
a. Chúng tá có thể dùng ghế có thể điều chỉnh. Ngồi cách nào để bàn chân của bạn đặt phẳng trên sàn nhà và lưng của bạn có gì chống đỡ. Dùng đồ gác chân nếu bàn chân của các bạn không chạm vào sàn nhà được khi ngồi.
b. Điều chỉnh ánh sáng. Ánh sáng tốt có thể giúp bạn nhìn rõ mà
không cần cúi người xuống.
c.Sử dụng kính an toàn có mặt kính phóng đại. Loại kính này
giúp bạn bớt cúi xuống để thấy bàn tay hay bàn chân của khách.
d. Nâng cao tay hoặc chân của khách hàng. Sử dụng một tấm
đệm để nâng cao bàn tay hoặc bàn chân của khách để các bạn
khỏi cúi xuống nhiều.

There are the following ways:
You can get product information on packaging, or in printed
materials delivered with the product such as its material safety data
sheet.
1. Product Labels.
At minimum, professional-use nail salon products containing
hazardous chemicals must provide the following information:
a.The name and address of the product manufacturer or distributer.

d. All necessary warning and caution statements

2. Material Safety Data Sheets often called MSDSs.
OSHA requires product manufacturers to provide salon owners
with material safety data sheets (MSDSs) for the products they
buy that contain hazardous chemicals.

In general, an MSDS must provide the following
information:
a. Hazardous ingredients in the product;
...
d. Steps for safely using and storing the product, including what to do
in emergencies.
Be aware that MSDSs may not contain all the information needed to
help protect you. For example, the manufacturer may state that you
should wear “impervious gloves,” but not specify the type.
