Four positives for the Astros following Game 1 loss to Dodgers - LP 242

October 23, 2017.

2017 World Series news.

Four positives for the Astros following Game 1 loss to Dodgers.

The 2017 World Series is the championship series of Major League Baseball's (MLB) 2017 season. The 113th edition of the World Series, it is a best-of-seven playoff between the National League (NL) champion Los Angeles Dodgers and the American League (AL) champion Houston Astros.

The 2017 World Series opens on Tuesday night with a dramatic and exciting match at the Dodger Stadium. The Dodgers held on win Game 1 (LAD 3, HOU 1). May be a mistake Justin Turner hit out of the ballpark for a sixth inning go-ahead two-run home run.

SportsLine gives Los Angeles a 71.4 percent chance to win the World Series. The Astros themselves came back from down 3-2 to win the ALCS.

Viewers realized that the Astros could lose some positive points from Game 1. Justin Verlander is the Astros' good and most dominant pitcher. Verlander will be on regular rest in Game 2, but viewers still note that Verlander is great in any ballpark. He was just named ALCS MVP after allowing one run in 16 innings against the Yankees.

The Dodgers insisted they would not start Kershaw short breaks in Game 4, and Alex Wood had the ball in Game 4 instead.

With Game 1, Devenski looked good. The good news is that in Game 1, set up and in 2017 All-Star Chris Devenski attacked two men and threw a 1-2-3 first-round in 9 rounds.

Up to this point the Astros season is 6-0 at home and 1-5 on the road. Winning a line is Game 4 of the ALDS. Astros have won the best AL record (53-28) in the regular season, so unlike the team can not win on the road. They have not so far this postseason.

Also one thing you should know is that entering the 2017 Olympics, the Dodgers players have thrown 23 unforgettable matches, a postseason record for a bullpen. In addition, by crossing the Arizona Diamondbacks and Chicago Cubs with a 48-19 profit margin, the Dodgers have joined the World Series with a third difference in the performance of the winner since the playoff structure was expanded into in 1995.

All-Star shortshop Corey Seager, who was out for the entire National League Championship Series with a back injury, was included on the Dodgers' World Series roster.

The good and bad or ugly from the Oilers’ start to the season - LP 236

Canada sports news -  ice hockey news.

The good and bad or ugly from the Oilers’ start to the season.

Finally, the Edmonton Oilers have achieved new successes in 2016-17, after many years of effort. The Edmonton Oilers are a professional ice hockey team based in Edmonton, Alberta. They are members of the Pacific Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Edmonton is the capital city of the Canadian province of Alberta. Edmonton is on the North Saskatchewan River and is the centre of the Edmonton Capital Region, which is surrounded by Alberta's central region.

One of the most remarkable efforts of this year is that they have given up 16 goals in four matches. At the same time they had to switch to two different stops to stop bleeding, before winning in Chicago on Wednesday night.

A fairly simple yet always correct formula is that you need to score goals with a  intelligent head, but to score goals you need to shoot the puck, and an eternal principle is to shoot the puck you need its owned in the first place. That factor of success, and also the good news for the Oilers, because they controlled the game with the score 5-5. They used as a proxy for puck possession.

The Oilers are currently being outscored 12-7 at five-on-five, tied with the Sabres for the fourth worst goal differential in the league. Last season this same Oilers team shot 8.29 per cent at five-on-five when adjusting for game score. It is widely acknowledged that the Oilers' first struggles can not be surprising because there was always a heightened baseline floor for this team.

However people also realize that Oilers have the fastest player on the planet, but still have speed problems.

More info about the Edmonton Oilers:

After joining the NHL, the Oilers went on to win the Stanley Cup on five occasions: 1983–84, 1984–85, 1986–87, 1987–88 and 1989–90. Along with the Pittsburgh Penguins, the Oilers are tied for the most championships won by any team since the NHL-WHA merger and also the most won by any team that joined the league in or after 1967.

Among all NHL teams, only the Montreal Canadiens have won the Stanley Cup more times since the League's 1967 expansion. For their success in the 1980s, the Oilers team of this era has been honoured with dynasty status by the Hockey Hall of Fame.

On March 28, 2017, the Edmonton Oilers officially made the playoffs for the first time since 2006, ending an 11-year span of missing the postseason. The Oilers defeated the San Jose Sharks in the first round, with a 3–1 win in Game 6 to secure their first playoff series win in 11 years, but their Stanley Cup run was eventually stopped on May 10, 2017, losing to the Anaheim Ducks in Game 7 with a 2–1 loss, ending the second round series.

Let wait we have seen last night’s epic Yankees win before - LP 220

Oct 9, 2017.

Sport news

Let wait we have seen last night’s epic Yankees win before.

People expect the Yankees to get over the Indians in the ALDS, but it may still be pale in comparison to the iconic play of Derek Jeter the last time they made such a comeback.

The Yankees dropped the first two games of the ALDS in The Bronx to the A’s when they back in 2001. In Oakland, they went out to it where Mike Mussina matched up against Barry Zito in Game 3.

What a blessing when Aroldis Chapman got the final five outs to close out the win and keep the Yankees alive on Sunday.

Albertín Aroldis Chapman de la Cruz was born on February 28, 1988. He is a Cuban-American professional baseball pitcher for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB).

The Yankees routed the A’s in Game 4 and then overcame an early 2-0 deficit in the decisive Game 5 to advance to the ALCS

They beat the Mariners before dropping the World Series to Arizona, when Rivera blew the save in Game 7.

Other info The New York Yankees :

The New York Yankees are an American professional baseball team based in the New York City borough of the Bronx. The Yankees compete in Major League Baseball (MLB) as a member club of the American League (AL) East division.

They are one of two major league clubs based in New York City, the other being the New York Mets of the National League. In the 1901 season, the club began playing in the AL as the Baltimore Orioles.

Frank Farrell and Bill Devery purchased the franchise and transferred it to New York City, renamed the Newland Highlanders Club. The Highlanders were officially renamed the Yankees in 1913.

Billy Martin is the only Yankee whose number he retires as a combination of player / manager. He was a player in 1950 and manager of the 1970s and 1980s. Joe Torre managed the Yankees from 1996 to 2007, winning six gold medals and four World Series titles.

On May 14, 2017, the Yankees retired number 2 in honor of Derek Jeter. This leaves 0, which the Yankees have never issued in their history, as the only single-digit number available for future Yankees.

Do you know anything about Marshall McLuhan ? - LP 138

Jul 21, 2017.

Do you know anything about Marshall McLuhan?

Herbert Marshall McLuhan (July 21, 1911 – December 31, 1980) was a Canadian professor, philosopher, and public intellectual. His work is one of the cornerstones of the study of media theory, as well as having practical applications in the advertising and television industries.

He studied at the University of Manitoba and the University of Cambridge; he began his teaching career as a Professor of English at several universities in the U.S. and Canada before moving to the University of Toronto, where he remained for the rest of his life.

On his 106th birthday, Google is honouring Canadian professor Marshall McLuhan. He was the one who predicted the rise of the Internet, a work ahead of time. According to many scientists, Canadian professor Marshall McLuhan emerged as a media theorist while teaching at the University of Toronto in the 1960s.

McLuhan was known for creating the phrase "the medium is the message" and the term global village, and predicted the World Wide Web nearly 30 years before it was invented.

He was a mentor in the media speeches of the late 1960s, although his influence began to decline in the early 1970s. In the years following his death, he continued to be a controversial figure in academic circles. With the advent of the Internet and the World Wide Web, the genius prediction of his was recognized.

McLuhan was named to the Albert Schweitzer Chair in Humanities at Fordham University in the Bronx for one year (1967–68). While at Fordham, he was diagnosed with a benign brain tumor, and it was treated successfully.

He returned to Toronto where he taught at the University of Toronto for the rest of his life and lived in Wychwood Park, a bucolic enclave on a hill overlooking the downtown where Anatol Rapoport was his neighbour. In 1970, he was made a Companion of the Order of Canada. In 1975, the University of Dallas hosted him from April to May, appointing him to the McDermott Chair.

He has very deep insights on the media. According to him, all media, from the phonetic alphabet to the computer, are human extensions that cause profound and lasting changes in him and his environment. dozen.

Reporter Raymond Williams, however, said that McLuhan's theory was dangerous, as it emphasized that the media have free reign to exert control over that very message.

A new centre known as the McLuhan Program in Culture and Technology, formed soon after his death in 1980, was the successor to McLuhan's Centre for Culture and Technology at the University of Toronto.

Since 1994, it has been part of the University of Toronto Faculty of Information and in 2008 the McLuhan Program in Culture and Technology incorporated in the Coach House Institute.

In 2011 at the time of his centenary the Coach House Institute established a Marshall McLuhan Centenary Fellowship program in his honor, and each year appoints up to four fellows for a maximum of two years.

In May 2016 the Coach House Institute was renamed the McLuhan Centre for Culture and Technology; its Interim Director is Seamus Ross (2015–16).

In Toronto, Marshall McLuhan Catholic Secondary School is named after him.
